Thrifty Tip: Ladies, don't forget to check out the men's and boys' clothing and accessories when thrifting. I've found lots of great shirts, blazers, jeans, belts and hats & caps, like the one I'm wearing.
Here's a close up of the cap, so you can see jewel tones in the houndstooth print.
Okay so, this vintage wool jacket... the puffy sweater sleeves, the structured vest, the leather trim... pure awesomeness! This is the kinda of unique, good quality piece that makes thrifting worthwhile. It is from an Austrian designer brand called Resi Hammerer. I looked up the brand up online, but didn't find out much. I saw a few pieces from this same designer for sale on Etsy and Ebay. Many of the pieces were also wool and advertised as vintage from the 70's or 80's. None of them were are cute as mine, though!
I know for the last few months we have been very bad about posting pictures. I am determined to start back posting regularly in 2014.
I hope you like this inexpensive OOTD. All together it cost under $60. The key to shopping at stores like Rainbow and Rue 21, is to only buy basic or trendy pieces that don't look cheap. Don't try to build your wardrobe there! I only paid $15 for this faux leather vest and it looks very similar to some of the more expensive ones I've seen (like here & here).
It has been far too long! Fall is upon us. I bought these pants in 5 different colors from Target. I plan on living in these skinny ankle pants all Fall/Winter. They work with heels, flats, boots and all kinds of tops. I love them!
